My personal journey to kinesiology
First and foremost, I am a mother and home educator to my two sons – beautiful and wild beings of light that they are! Prior to having my first son, I worked as an ecologist but had already developed a strong interest in the area of holistic health due to my own struggles.
In my early 20s I developed a range of chronic health issues including gut problems, intense fatigue, menstrual irregularities, anxiety and depression.
As you may be able to relate to, I wasn't getting to the root of these issues using a conventional approach and thus began my holistic health journey. I gradually I improved my wellbeing using a variety of approaches including diet, supplements, meditation, yoga and detox protocols.
Working with the physical body only took me so far, sparking my interest in working with the energetic fields and beginning my studies in Neurolinguistic Kinesiology and other energetic techniques.
Not long into my studies I became pregnant with my first child. The pregnancy was a dream, I felt amazing – I meditated and did yoga every day, I ate organic, probiotic food, avoided chemicals and prepared for a calm, natural birth.
Things weren’t all unicorns and rainbows postpartum however; my sweet baby boy had serious feeding problems and then, around the 2 week mark the screaming started. So much crying, so much worry, so little sleep! I became very anxious and quite depressed.
With my second baby I had a similar experience despite being prepared for all possibilities. My children have always experienced life with such incredible intensity. Naturally, as their mother I wanted to assist them as best I could to thrive, catalysing my special interest in working with highly sensitive and neurodivergent children and families.
